To have to admit biological males who identify as females is a travesty… it would have completely gutted the experience for me.

It was back in the 70s when I was a freshman in college. I had graduated from an all-girls school (7th-12th grade) which I loved. I was so ready for the co-ed college experience, but I was also looking for that female-only space as well.

My sorority provided that safe community space. I made friends that I am still close to after all these years. I can’t imagine what it would have been like if a biological male had been admitted. It would have completely gutted the experience for me.

There would not be the bonds of sisterhood, the freedom to be open and honest and silly or even the feeling of a truly safe space for us as young women. To have to admit biological males who identify as females is a travesty.
