Gas prices have gone up so much that I may have to start attending singing group every other week in order to afford the gas.

I am a retired widow, living in a small town about 30-35 miles from the nearest large city. I live on a very tight budget, but try to stay active with things I enjoy. My hobbies are singing and crocheting, and I attend church 20 miles away. I have to drive 50 miles to my singing group and 40 miles to the best place to buy yarn. Gas prices have gone up so much that I may have to start attending singing group every other week in order to afford the gas. I’ve already stopped attending Wednesday night Bible study at church. It’s really discouraging that when I’ve reached the age I can do what I want, I’m facing not being able to get there. It’s not like I’m taking cruises or touring Europe, I just want to use my talents and interact with my friends.
