I noticed this trend for the first time when I got to college in 2018 and I met the first nonbinary person I had ever met. Soon after I met many gender nonconforming people. Since then my roommate has had a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy and his sibling is about to have a double mastectomy as well. My girlfriend is nonbinary and their sibling is nonbinary as well. Many of my peers have come out as gender nonconforming.

I have never felt like I was allowed to question why everyone I knew suddenly became gender nonconforming. I also noticed that more females fell victim to this than males. I feel sorry for those who’ve made medical decisions that are irreversible.
