We rely on my insurance company to restrain prices and we rely on private insurance to cover Medicare Part B. That works to some extent. We have not been blindsided yet, but I think it is a good policy to require more price transparency. Doctors should be required to explain costs to patients, especially regarding diagnostic tests.
